Leading homeless charity Crisis supports Rory's rough sleeping plan
Jon Sparkes, Crisis’ Chief Executive said: “Rough sleeping is the most devastating and dangerous form of homelessness, leaving people exposed to extreme weather conditions, violence and abuse, along with incredible instability.
“We know that Housing First works as a way of ending homelessness and are pleased that Rory Stewart is recognising this. We hope that all candidates for London Mayor commit to a pan-London strategy that will deliver at least 2,300 Housing First tenancies across the capital. This is critical to ending rough sleeping.
“The new London Mayor must also provide enough housing to ensure that everyone experiencing homeless has somewhere to rebuild their lives with somewhere safe, stable and affordable to call home.”
